Ascorbic acid is nothing more than the well-known vitamin C. To help our own health, we eat it almost every day. During reduced immunity, the dose taken should increase several times. How do I get high doses of this vitamin?
Why is vitamin C powder better than tablets?
Fruit and vegetables are a natural source of vitamin C, but the amounts they contain may not be sufficient. Alternatives are tablets and capsules. Experts on the subject do not consider this form to be the best for several reasons. Apart from ascorbic acid, the tablets contain such substances as: potato starch, sucrose, lactose, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, cellulose acetate, castor oil, gum arabic, sucrose, quinoline yellow E 104, beeswax, Carnauba wax. The tablets do not usually carry the information about the right- or left-handedness of the vitamin, which is very important news.
Despite the not very impressive content and some lack of information, tablets and capsules appreciate very highly. Perhaps we are used here to our habit of a convenient form of administration, perhaps we think that the tablet is a measure of the amount of vitamin we can take. However, our preferences should not obscure a rational view of the facts.
Vitamin C powder is ten times cheaper. A kilogram of this preparation costs about 50 - 60 PLN. It is worth remembering that 5 grams of ascorbic acid is 1 teaspoonful of tea. For a small amount of money we have 200 teaspoons of extremely healthy powder. Even if you take a teaspoonful of the preparation daily, the stock is successfully enough for half a year. If you buy vitamin C powder, you can also be sure that it is left-handed vitamin C. Why is it so important? Right-handed vitamin C is very poorly absorbed by our body.
How to use vitamin C powder?
One of the advantages of this form of vitamin is the ability to consume it in drinks. In autumn and winter it is a great way to immunize the body, but also in warm months, a drink prepared with the addition of vitamin C can be a tasty and refreshing alternative to unhealthy cola drinks.
How to prepare such a drink? Half a teaspoon of powdered ascorbic acid should be added to the carrot and apple juice or green tea. In order not to destroy the vitamin, it should be added to a cool drink (vitamin C is not resistant to high temperature). It is also worth replacing metal spoons with plastic or wood cutlery or straw.
Prepare a very tasty, refreshing drink by stirring:
- a glass of lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon of L-ascorbic acid
- 2-3 teaspoons of xylitol or honey
This drink tastes almost like Sprite, but not carbonated. It is worth consuming when our mood deteriorates, we feel that we are caught by a cold, a cold, a cold, a cough, a sore throat or a sub-febrile condition. Thanks to a few glasses of water with a teaspoon of vitamin C and honey, the symptoms disappear after just a dozen or so hours. In order to achieve such a result it is necessary to drink 2 - 3 glasses a day for 2 days. At the same time, we save on expenses related to the purchase of medicines such as Gripex or Aspirin.
The drink with a teaspoon of vitamin C also has an anti-inflammatory effect on other ailments. It is very useful to drink 2 glasses a day in case of persistent toothache. Of course, the treatment should not replace a visit to the dentist, but while waiting for the appointment date, you can reduce the discomfort associated with the increasing pain.
Vitamin C can be consumed in quite large daily portions, because the body effectively defends itself against its overdose. In principle, its consumption is possible until now, where we do not feel the intensive work of the intestines and we do not start to empty ourselves unnecessarily. This is a sign that the substance has been saturated.
L-ascorbic acid is a great cosmetic.
Quite popular in recent times has become independent composing of cosmetics. Vitamin C can also be useful in this field. The beneficial effect of L-ascorbic acid on our beauty does not require proof. It is widely used in the cosmetics industry. Handmade cosmetics have the advantage over finished products that we have an influence on what will be in the preparation and they will not be preservatives at all.
